Digital violence is violence. Social media platforms have become crime scenes. Women and girls, minorities, and the marginalized are most vulnerable to having their images abused online. Globally, 85% of women have reported witnessing online violence, and nearly 40% have experienced it personally– and the problem is growing every day. Online violence against women is widespread and devastating.
The bodyright campaign is a global call to action to disrupt violence against women and girls in virtual spaces.

About the event
United Nations Population Fund - UNFPA organizes the Regional Forum “The Virtual is Real: Strengthening legislative frameworks in support of Bodily Autonomy” where speakers from the Western Balkan region and beyond will discuss the current situation and legal framework in their countries on cyber violence. The Forum will strengthen regional partnerships through crafting consistent and effective legal measures and raising awareness to combat digital violence and gender-based violence in general.
