Engaging with students to reflect on women’s rights history, discuss present challenges, and advocate for equal opportunities, emphasizing resource allocation, media portrayal, and ending gender-based violence is vital to create a thriving, equitable world.

About the event
On International Women’s Day, together with an inspiring group of students from the Institute of Gender Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, we discussed about the most important events in the fight for women’s rights history and reflected on some of the challenges women face today.
As highlighted in the conversation, we need to concentrate on not only equal rights but equal opportunity for everybody by:
- Allocating resources equitably as essential for addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by women and girls.
- Advocating for diverse and authentic portrayals of women in the media to overcome stereotypes and empower future generations.
- Making sure that every woman and girl feels safe and protected, stand up against gender-based violence, and create a culture of zero tolerance as we strive to end all forms of gender-based violence.
It is important to continue these crucial conversations, take meaningful action, and strive for a world where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive.
