UNICEF and partners: Interactive Event on Climate Action and Environmental Education in the Skopje City Park

On the first day of spring, children, young people, and educators livened up the Skopje City Park at an interactive event to showcase climate action and environmental education initiatives being implemented in the country.

Around 250 children from across the country engaged in interactive workshops organized by the Experiential Learning Network, the BioTechnology Lab of the City of Skopje, and the GLOBE programme. At the Innovation Expo over 60 young innovators and climate activists promoted their local climate and environment initiatives developed through UPSHIFT and Youth Innovation Camps. The event wrapped up with a teachers’ meet-up on experiential learning on climate change and environmental sustainability.

The event provided an opportunity to showcase some of the results of the work being done by partners in the UNICEF supported programme “Empowering Children and Young People to Act as Change Agents to Reduce the Vulnerability of Climate Change to Communities” which is funded by Sweden.
