About the event
In partnership with the Ministry of Social Policy, Demographics, and Youth, the UN Women office in the country organized a panel discussion titled “The Transformative Power of Social Workers,” highlighting their crucial role in supporting women and girls from vulnerable groups who face various challenges and barriers.
“I want to send a message to all social workers: Your work, though often invisible, leaves an indelible mark of hope and love in the hearts of those you help. Continue to be a light for those in darkness. Your care is what makes the world a better place,” said Fatmir Limani, Minister of Social Policy, Demographics, and Youth.
“Working with vulnerable women and girls is a noble and dedicated effort, full of challenges and emotional investment, but it provides support and brings hope. This dialogue is part of our ongoing commitment to meaningful and positive change for all women and girls,” stated Vesna Ivanovikj-Castarede, Head of the UN Women Office in North Macedonia.
Social workers are the backbone of social protection systems. Let’s support their work and build an inclusive society where every woman has the opportunity for a dignified life and economic independence.
