Citizens to access information and vaccines against COVID-19 in city squares and other locations across the country

Ministry of Health with support from USAID, World Health Organization and UNICEF launch COVID-19 vaccination caravan that will travel to 14 locations throughout the country.

About the event

Next week, the Ministry of Health with support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), World Health Organization (WHO) and United National Children’s Fund (UNICEF) will launch a COVID-19 vaccination caravan that will travel to 14 communities throughout the country. Citizens will be able to get the latest information on COVID-19 and get vaccinated during the events that will take place in town squares and other public locations. People who have been vaccinated abroad will be able to register their vaccination status and receive a third dose at the caravan.

Based on latest data, only around 41% of the total population in North Macedonia have been vaccinated with two doses and only 7% have had their booster shot. Considering unvaccinated people have higher risk of death from COVID-19 than someone who has been vaccinated, a large proportion of the population remains unprotected against the possible severe outcomes of COVID-19. Therefore, there is an urgent need for strengthening COVID-19 immunization community level outreach, especially for at-risk communities.
