Marking of WRD in the Parliament

As part of the marking of World refugee Day 2024, the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia in partnership with UNHCR, hosted an event, with addresses by the President of the Parliament, the USA and EU ambassadors and UNHCR Representative.

The event reaffirmed North Macedonia's commitment to international protection efforts and celebrated the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution, showing solidarity and calling for solutions for refugees around the world. 

This session also affirmed the Republic of North Macedonia’s unwavering support for refugees and complemented the process of extending temporary protection for Ukrainians beyond August 2024, ensuring effective implementation and access to rights and legal certainty for those affected.
