Veles/Shtip, 11/15 May 2024 - More than 70 persons with disabilities actively participated in the discussions held in the municipalities of Veles and Shtip, helping to identify gaps in the needs and rights associated with sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence, as well as the well-being of persons with disabilities.

The events were held within the framework of the project - Knowledge and Engagement - to Empowerment and Participation (KEEP), financed by the UNPRPD joint programme in North Macedonia, and were organized by UNFPA and its implementing partner, the Macedonian Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (MAGO).
The attendees, mostly persons with disabilities, actively participated, sharing their experiences and highlighting the need for more accessible information, sexual education, and support services. The discussions also emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and advocating for policy changes to improve accessibility and inclusivity.
The sessions underscored the urgent need for practical solutions to address the barriers faced by persons with disabilities.
