Consultations on the Strategy for Demographic Policies continue

On May 31st, representatives from UNFPA and national consultants met with the President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, Slobodan Trendafilov and representatives from the Union of Workers in administration, judicial authorities, and citizen associations. The meeting focused on presenting the draft 20-year Strategy for Demographic Policies, emphasizing the concepts of demographic resilience and the central role of human rights and the human capital.

A similar discussion took place on June 11th with the vice-president of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and president of the ICT Chamber, Orce Simov.

The development of this crucial document is characterized by a participatory and inclusive approach. In addition to the core working group composed of representatives from national institutions, the process actively involves contributions from the academic community, civil society, the private sector, and other relevant partners. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that the final strategy reflects a broad range of perspectives and addresses the diverse demographic challenges that North Macedonia is facing.
