Resource Mobilization and Partnership Strategy North Macedonia 2026-2030
Achieving the 2030 Agenda requires combining the finances and knowledge of organizations from all sectors to ensure opportunity and prosperity. This demands a new, activating UN approach that moves beyond executing projects to actively partnering with stakeholders, mutually sharing risks and responsibilities. Partnerships are about establishing profound, enduring teamwork, not just securing funding.
The UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework – Resource Mobilization and Partnership Strategy (RMPS) structures UN North Macedonia’s alliance efforts. The UN Country Team (UNCT) adopts joint approaches and objectives to resource mobilization, ensuring a unified voice focused on shared priorities. This strategy relies on UN joint programmes to provide more coherent cross-sectoral support to the government, integrating expertise from multiple agencies to address development challenges holistically and efficiently.
The UNCT establishes strategic alliances, moving beyond traditional donor roles. The vision for UN coalitions with universities is to leverage academic research and local expertise for evidence-based policy. Engagement with the private sector focuses on strategic alliances that embed SDG targets within core business models, utilizing their innovation and market reach to scale sustainable solutions.
The RMPS prioritizes SDG financing by actively supporting innovative finance and tools for aligning public and private financial flows with SDGs. The UNCT plays a catalytic role in unlocking capital beyond conventional ODA. Finally, the UN is committed to promoting UN transparency and mechanisms in line with the Funding Compact to reinforce accountability and build the trust necessary for enduring collaboration.
