United Nations North Macedonia 2025 Annual Results Report
As we present the Annual Results Report for 2025, we reflect on a year marked by resilience, progress, and partnership. North Macedonia has continued its journey toward sustainable development, guided by the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the commitment to leave no one behind.
In 2025, the country achieved a number of milestones in advancing inclusive economic growth, social cohesion, and environmental sustainability. Through strong collaboration between the Government, the United Nations, civil society, academia, and the private sector, institutions were strengthened and the implementation of national reforms advanced—most notably the National Development Strategy 2024–2044 and the EU Reform Agenda. Key services in health, education, and social protection became more resilient and inclusive, with expanded outreach to women, children, migrants, Roma communities, and persons with disabilities. Reforms in labour markets
and skills development helped drive more inclusive economic participation, while climate action accelerated through expanded access to climate finance, stronger environmental governance, and concrete community-level results on cleaner air, biodiversity protection, and disaster preparedness.
The UN Country Team also deepened joint action by pooling together the agencies’ expertise for integrated programming and delivering coherent policy support in areas such as gender equality, youth empowerment, climate action, digital transformation, and social inclusion. These accomplishments are the result of the Government’s leadership and the strong commitment of our many national and international partners. While challenges persist, the progress achieved in 2025 reinforces a shared conviction that sustained cooperation, sound policies, and inclusive institutions can deliver lasting results for people and communities across North Macedonia.
As we embark on the new 2026–2030 Cooperation Framework, the UN Country Team stands ready to continue supporting the country’s strategic priorities— advancing prosperity, strengthening resilience, аccelerating the green transition, promoting social cohesion, and ensuring that all people, especially those most at risk of being left behind, can fully realize their rights and opportunities.
